This is one of my fondest memories from my childhood. I remember getting a VHS tape from Rare showing off the cg behind the new Donkey Kong Country game. The tape even had a mechanism inside it that would keep it from being rewound and watched again. John and I opened the tape up and took the mechanism out so we could watch the video over and over. That Christmas we each got $25 dollars from my grandma and John and I put our money together to buy DKC. It was the best Christmas ever. My brothers are awesome. I know there is advantages to being an only child, but I wouldn’t change being 1 of 4 for anything

Ok story time,
So I was helping out at a middle school today during their lunch time (I am a computer technician). I was walking down a hall toward an elevator when I see three pretty nerdy looking kids sitting on the floor of the hall. 2 boys and a girl. Not sure why they were allowed to be there but whatevs. The girls back was to me and the other two boys were sitting next to her with their backs against the wall. The girlhad a pokemon shirt on. as I walk by I glanced over to see what they were doing. The boy in the middle was holding a Doctor Who magazine and the other two were looking at it. I was surprised to see three kids their age so enthusiastic about Doctor Who. It was pretty awesome. One of the kids was pointing out a Dalek and said “these are my favorites” to which the girl responded “I saw a Dalek at comicon” (Texas Comicon perhaps?) By this time I was standing in front of the elevator. Didn’t think wise to start geeking out with kids seeing as how paranoid everyone is now a day. So I pressed the button and waited a few seconds. Then I decided to go for it. I acted a bit agitated and in my best british accent I said aloud (to no one in particular) “This is the slowest lift I’ve ever seen!” I pretended to look around and make sure the cost was clear (ignoring the three kids now staring at me) and pulled out from my upper pocket on my shirt that was underneath the hoodie I was wearing, my Sonic Screwdriver. I proceeded to run it up and down the seam of the elevator for a few seconds and to my delight it opened. Satisfied with my self I smiled and put the Sonic back in my pocket. I looked directly at the kids on the floor, gave them a wink and stepped in. Now, I know I am overweight and not good looking like the Doctor, and I know they probably didn’t actually believe I was the Doctor, but the looks on their faces was priceless. Best thing to happen at this job ever. True story, I swear. -
